Dr. Joyce Mundy has been an educator and safe schools advocate for twenty-four years. Her administrative work in bullying programming and training led to her being named Pennsylvania’s Middle School Principal of the year in 2010. She is currently the Superintendent of Schools in Centennial School District in southeastern Pennsylvania. Dr. Mundy’s doctoral research focused on the barriers for school administrators in creating LGBT inclusive programs. Having adequate, clear, and effective safe schools legislation to support LGBT youth is at the forefront of her advocacy. Legislation is key in creating appropriate school policies, procedures and professional development. As a district leader, Dr. Mundy remains steadfast in her mission to provide connected school communities that support, welcome, and values all constituents, the most important variable in student success.
