
Chris Joy is a certified elementary and secondary school counselor with over 15 years of experience working in Philadelphia and suburban public schools in Southeastern Pennsylvania. He is currently working to complete his doctoral dissertation on Cyberbullying at the Grand Canyon University having already completed his BA in Sociology from Cabrini College and his MS is School Counseling from Gwynedd Mercy University. Affective Education continues to be Chris’s primary focus through student education with programs designed for teaching tolerance, bullying prevention, and increasing student empathy. Chris has extensive experience in the application of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program for schools at the elementary and secondary levels. His facilitation of the HABIT (Harassment And Bullying Intervention Taskforce) student group at the Penndale Middle School has been essential in providing empathy training for thousands of secondary aged students. Chris has also designed and implemented student, staff and parent figure training sessions aimed at reducing the amount of bullying and cyberbullying behaviors in the North Penn School District Community. Prior to coming on board at David M. Hall Associated and Delaware Valley College, Chris has delivered affective education classes at the Montgomery County Community College, the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, and Opn-Wyd.
